Deutsche Bank Russia hires the son of its CEO as head of capital markets
Maxim Lojevsky is Deutsche Bank's new head of Russian capital markets.
Lozhevsky has the typical CV of an international Russian banker. He started his career at BNP Paribas in New York, before moving to BNP Paribas in Paris. From there, he moved to Deutsche Bank in London, where he dealt with clients in Russia and central Europe. Thereafter he went to UBS, for two years. And now he's come back home to Deutsche, which has around 1,100 employees in Russia.
What Deutsche Bank doesn't say in its press release celebrating Maxim's reappearance, is that Lojevsky is the son of Igor Lojevsky, its CEO. Bloomberg news columnist Jason Corcoran suggested on Twitter that Maxim was made redundant from UBS in a recent round of cuts.
Deutsche Bank is seeking to rebuild its Russian business after plummeting in the Russian league tables. Maxim appears to have been in the right place at the right time. His father is reportedly planning to step down as Deutsche's Russian CEO in 2013.
