These two investment banks are going to be doing some hiring in South Africa
If you're looking for a financial services job in South Africa, you may wish to send your CV to Nedbank Capital or Saxo Capital Markets, both of which are in growth mode in Johannesburg.
Nedbank CEO Brian Kennedy said last week that the bank plans to grow revenues at Nedbank Capital by double digits in percentage terms this year, with a focus on infrastructure funding, renewable energy projects, and M&A financing between junior miners. Kennedy didn't mention recruitment, but with all that growth hiring seems likely.
Separately, Danish-based Saxo Capital Markets opened for business in SA this month and has launched a cross-asset class trading platform for retail and institutional investors. Country manager Brett Mclaren said they'd be adding resources as the business grows.
