Is Nama a more appealing place to work than Bank of Ireland?

Fresh from reducing compensation for its more senior staff, Nama has suddenly declared itself on track for a profit.

The agency said this week that it will make a €200m profit for 2011. Interestingly, Bank of America achieved a €190m loss over the same period.

Notably, too, Nama has been hiring (and wants to recruit an additional 200 people)– whereas Bank of Ireland reduced its headcount by 600 people last year. On the other hand, Bank of Ireland is paying its 'code staff' comparatively well and Nama has been cutting pay. A difficult choice...
