Cantor Fitzgerald Expands its Emerging Markets Business
Cantor Fitzgerald announced today that it was building up its emerging markets business with recent hires to manage the distribution, trading and structuring of fixed income securities from Latin America, Asia and CEEMEA to investors around the world.
The global financial services firm has hired Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, formerly of Jefferies & Co. as Co-Heads of the Emerging Markets group. The addition of Mr. Cortellesi and Mr. Bauer-Rowe further expands Cantor's capabilities to serve clients globally, offering broader distribution of the firm's full service platform and will be jointly responsible for the firm's emerging markets business.
Cantor CEO Shawn Matthews called the appointments of Charles and Erich "a key element of the firm's ongoing goal to expand" its emerging markets business. "As we continue to aggressively build our successful business, their experience and extensive knowledge of the characteristics and dynamics of emerging markets, and their strong commitment to serving clients make them an ideal team to head the group," said Matthews.
"Emerging nations' markets have experienced robust economic returns over the last several years and we believe that Cantor is well positioned for strong growth as we leverage its powerful global capabilities and strong client relationships," said Cortellesi and Bauer-Rowe in a joint statement.
Mr. Cortellesi and Mr. Bauer-Rowe were previously Co-Heads of the Emerging Markets Group at Jefferies & Co. where they established the sales and trading operation globally.
