25 (or so) new jobs coming at the Green Investment Bank in Edinburgh

After months of anticipation, a verdict has been delivered: the Green Investment bank will be based in Edinburgh - and in London, although Edinburgh will be the headquarters.

This clearly means jobs, although not many. Various sources report that the bank will employ between 50 and 70 people in total, spread between its two offices. The London office will be the fundraising centre, implying that the Edinburgh office will be the investing centre. People with experience of investing in green energy projects will be needed here, especially people with experience of investing in the GIBs five key areas: offshore wind power generation, creating energy from waste, commercial and industrial waste processing and recycling, energy efficiency in the non-domestic sector, and support for the Green Deal.

These people will be needed soon. From a standing start, the Green Investment Bank intends to be fully operational by autumn 2012.
