Belfast is already well established as a centre for financial technology. Now, another new arrival is seeking to make the most of its expertise. We understand the the Chicago Mercantile Exchange is setting up a big new technology hub in the City and is getting ready to hire.

The Belfast Telegraph reported that the CME was setting up a new office in the city last month, claiming it had considered, "several locations across the globe, but was attracted to Northern Ireland by the high quality workforce."

However, the Telegraph didn't mention the new centre's apparent tech focus.

We don't have exact hiring numbers, but understand they will be "substantial." There will be more news here as we have it...
