Jobs may be going at Clydesdale and RBS in Scotland, but corporate bankers can take solace from the fact that they may get re-employed at Santander.

The Spanish bank has hired four senior Lloyds bankersas it seeks to build its banking business in Scotland out of Glasgow. The new hires will focus on commercial property, large corporates and education, healthcare and community. It seems likely that they will try and boost their teams with additional junior recruits. Separately, banks have done well in this year's Stonewall Scotland Index.

The four top ranked Scottish employers for gay people were all banks, with Barclays in first place, followed by Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland and Clydesdale Bank.
