BofA's vice chair of financial institutions Mark Ellman will retire next month. [Bloomberg]

Ex-Man Group executive Anthony Lawler joined Ireland-based investment management firm GAM as a portfolio manager. [Hedge Fund Net]

Deutsche Bank CEO Josef Ackermann abandoned a plan to become supervisory board chairman in 2012. Instead, the post will be filled by Paul Achleitner, the finance chief of insurer Allianz SE. Ackermann will step down as chief executive as planned in May and succeeded by Juergen Fitschen and Anshu Jain. [Bloomberg]
