INTERVIEW QUESTION: JPMorgan, associate interview, M&A

Question:

You look at the clock. It’s 3.15pm. What’s the angle between the clock hands?

Answer:

7.5 degrees.

Question:

What is the sum of the numbers from one to 100?

Answer:

5,050. You have to pair up the numbers into groups of 101 (1+100; 2+99; 3+98, etc), getting 50 pairs of 101, so 50 x 101 = 5,050

Question:

What is the expected value of a roll of a dice?

Answer:

3.5. (1 x (1/6) + 2 x (1/6) + 3 x (1/6) + 4 x (1/6) + 5 x (1/6) + 6 x (1/6) = 3.5)
