Lunchtime Links: Dexia's CEO has spent the last 3 years' living in a top Brussels hotel, paid for by the company

At least Fred Goodwin had his own place, even if he was partial to expensive wallpaper. Dexia's chief executive, Pierre Mariani, appears to have been reliant on his employer for his accommodation.

According to Financial Times Deutschland, Mariani has spent the past three years residing in a suite at the Hotel Amigo in Brussels, an establishment favoured by Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen.

Usually, FTD says the suite might cost € 545 a night. However, Mariani appears to have negotiated a reduction: Dexia says he was paying a mere €185 (161). Mariani is now under pressure to pay this back and find a bedsit.
