Some depressing data about the proportion of graduates who have actually realized their deep desire to work in investment banks
What percentage of this year's graduates who want to work in investment banks have fulfilled their ambition? 16% according to our survey of 234 eFinancialCareers site users.
And what percentage of these student site visitors would be prepared to work for free simply in order to get some experience, any experience? 75% according to the same survey.
The implication: there are a lot of students out there who could drive down investment banks' first year pay in future. Why pay 50k+ a year when people will work for nothing?
