Lunchtime Links: Tata Consultancy Services hired 70,000 people last year and wants to hire 60,000 this year
If you really, really, really want a new job, try sending your CV to Tata Consultancy Services. It is hiring. Massively.
Not for Tata, the piffling recruitment of investment banks, which might add a few hundred persons here or there if they're lucky. The investment bank's favourite outsourcer is going for the big numbers: 60,000 new people this year, after 70,000 new people in 2010.
Needless to say, most of the jobs will pay an infinitesimally small amount compared to anything else in financial services. They probably also won't be in London or New York. Tata does hire here, but the real action is in Mumbai, where it's headquartered. Bloomberg mentions that it plans new offices in China and Latin America.
