Lots of jobs are coming soon. They are not coming to London, however.
Firstly, a once in a lifetime opportunity will soon arise to work for Dmitry Medvedev and - by implication - Vladimir Putin. Medvedev is reportedly setting up a $10bn private equity fund and will be wanting 25-30 investment managers to work for it. The fund has already hired one ex-Goldman Sachs banker, who's also worked for McKinsey and went to Stanford and Harvard Universities. The hiring will begin in June.
If you want something a little less likely to bring you in contact with former members of the KGB, you could try Dublin. The Irish Independent reports that Deutsche is creating a, 'European Centre of Excellence for hedge funds' there.
In pursuit of this, Deutsche is moving its entire European hedge fund administration operation to Dublin and will be hiring 75-100 people before December and significantly more before 2016.
