Lunchtime Links: London financial services headhunters killed and wounded in the Moscow airport bombing

Our thoughts today are with Elvira Muratova, the London-based co-head of emerging markets at New Millennium Group. As reported yesterday, Elvira was seriously wounded in the bomb at Moscow airport on Monday. Kirill Bodrashov, her boyfriend and the father of her young son was killed. Mr Bodrashov, also worked at New Millennium Group and was a former VP at Barclays Capital.

In a statement, Andrew Willner, chief executive at New Millennium Group, said:

"Everybody here is deeply distressed by this terrible event, and our thoughts and prayers are with Elvira and both their families at this very sad time."

Kirill touched the lives of everybody he met with his infectious sense of humour and his kind compassionate nature. He was a loving partner to Elvira and a devoted father to Alexander.

He was also an immensely popular character and a highly respected professional amongst both his colleagues and clients, many of whom have been kind enough to send in messages of support and condolence from around the world.

We are all still in a state of shock at the senseless loss of life which has been brought home to us in such a personal fashion by the death of Kirill. His passing leaves a huge void in the lives of those who knew and loved him."

Before joining New Millennium, Elvira spent 5 years at headhunter Napier Scott. "It's tragic. I don't know what else to really say - it's come as a shock to everyone who was at Napier Scott - our prayers and sympathy are with her," says Shaun Springer, former Napier Scott CEO.
