I'm in the USA, I'm doing the CFA, but can I get a job back in Aus? REVIEW MY RESUME

"I have been working abroad since 2003 and am now looking to return to Australia. Given my overseas experience (primarily in alternative-investment-fund financial reporting), I want to know how I would be received by Australian employers - e.g. investment fund managers, public accounting firms, corporations or banks."

"I am also enrolled in the CFA Level 1, with my exam in June 2011. I am keen to move into the investments/finance area and move away from my traditional role as a financial reporting accountant. What sort of job opportunities would be open to me post CFA?"

Be truthful but do not under sell yourself by choice of words in CV. Have to tailor to job you are apply for.

Great CV, there is definitely current opportunities in Australia in the alternative investment, resources, energy and infrastructure space. From IB, big four, fund managers to asset consultants.

Btw, is it possible for one to not know what is CFA and accessing this website for financial career?

Agree with JR, you need to work a little bit more on your CV. Make it more concise.

Totally disagree with Brendan. Nowadays more companies (fund managers, investment advisers, asset consultants) are requiring CFA as a "prefered requisite". Just take a look to Seek.com and you will verify this.
Moreover, if you are moving from accounting to finance, I reckon CFA will be very helpful for the core knowledge you will require in future jobs.

    Good luck!
