Question

What has the euro/pound exchange rate done in the last 6 months and then what has it done in the last year?

Answer

I said that it had depreciated over the last 6 months due to the debt situation within the eurozone. Over the last year I said that it had appreciated at the beginning over the year and then depreciated over the last 6 months, as I said previously.

Question

How do insurance companies view bonds?

Answer

They view them as an instrument which will give them a constant return.

Question

What do you think will happen to Ireland?

Answer

They do not have to restructure their debt until next summer, therefore, they should be fine until then. However, there is increasing weight from the markets pushing for Ireland to take a bailout. This will most likely happen because unless the market changes its view, which is unlikely, they will continue to believe that Ireland will take a bailout.
