Europe's top student traders revealed

The results are in. Over 1,700 students from across Europe pitted their trading skills against one another in the eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge, sponsored by Credit Suisse.

But from this bountiful crop of entries, only the top two from each of the competition categories - students graduating in 2012 and those completing studies in 2013 - were selected to interview for Credit Suisse's spring internship programme and summer programme, respectively.

As a reminder, entrants to the challenge were given a 10m fantasy fund to invest in European and North American equities over the course of a month, with the best performing portfolios taking the top spots.

Without further adieu, the winners are:

Students graduating in 2012:

1. Julian Pascal, EM Lyon Business School, France

Fund value: 12,890,392.45

2. Chris Doyle, University of Warwick, UK

Fund value: 12,469,065.68.

3. Tee Hoong Cheah, London School of Economics and Political Science, UK

Fund value: 12,401,511.64

1. Sebastian Angst, Fernfachhochschule Schweiz, Switzerland

Fund value: 11,435,483.98

2. Jack Stone, University of Warwick, UK

Fund value: 11,287,442.01

Fund value: 10,576,524.49

As well as the opportunity to secure an internship at Credit Suisse, following prizes were also awarded in both categories: 1st place: Samsung N220 Netbook, 2nd place: Apple iPod Touch, 3rd place: Sony DSC-W310 camera.

Those who couldn't quite make the grade should not despair, this was merely the summer version of the challenge. The next eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge (also sponsored by Credit Suisse) will run from 1 October-30 November 2010.
