Lunchtime Links: Here's where the senior front office hiring is still happening now

Ok, there is still front office hiring going on, there's just not that much of it.

Today it transpires that Nomura has lost a senior FIG banker in London to an unspecified rival, that Nomura is still hiring in the US, that UBS has hired a brand new head of European high yield trading from Credit Suisse, that Morgan Stanley has hired a new head of European securitization., and that Altium Capital has hired two researchers.

Don't assume it's all laughter and joy however. Morgan Stanley analysts have issued a report saying there will be another 600 redundancies at Barclays Capital before the end of the year.

Banks still insists that everything is going "exactly" to plan. And overall, the industry is doing more hiring than firing. (Financial Times)
