David Deverall has signalled the end of his seven-year reign as chief executive of fund manager Perpetual after announcing his resignation this morning. The former Macquarie Bank high-flyer will stand down by next March but will almost certainly leave sooner once the company's board, led by chairman Bob Savage, is able to find a replacement.
