Lunchtime Links: Current hiring intentions at Barclays Capital

Putting briefly aside the ongoing travails at Goldman Sachs, it's notable that there's still something in the way of equities hiring going on over at Barclays Capital.

The UK's favourite investment bank appears to have allowed The Telegraph access to some of its top people, resulting in article revealing that: hiring for EMEA ECM isn't totally over yet (15-20 people are to be added this year), but 2010 and 2011 are really about building up in non-Japan Asia.

BarCap's bankers also reel off various drivers of the bank's future success, including its "unique culture", which is apparently, "an interesting mix of old-fashioned values and cutting-edge thinking."

True - BarCap is the new Goldman Sachs...minus the infrastructure, intelligence or sophistication.

Clearly, BarCap is the new Goldman Sachs

( sorry but someone had to say that, even semi-seriously )
