Lunchtime Links: Senior hiring is revving up, but not particularly in the UK

Elsewhere in the world, big moves are all the rage. Yesterday, a senior US banker left Citigroup for Morgan Stanley. Today, it emerged that Deutsche is adding a new US MD in securitization and MBS, Citigroup has hired a senior distressed debt trading in Asia, and that Swiss private bank BSI has been poaching vast swathes of people from RBS in Singapore.

In London, meanwhile, all is comparatively quiet. Morgan Stanley's adding a senior London-based researcher from Credit Suisse; SocGen and Nomura have made a handful of big name hires since January, but it's notable that most of the big moves so far this year have been in continental Europe, the US or Asia.

We blame it on the bonus tax, which imposes a 50% levy on guarantees offered to new hires before April.
