Daily Dispatches: more i-banking movement as UBS poaches from Deutsche

UBS has wasted little time replacing some of the big-shots to defect recently. The Swiss-owned bank this week enticed Andrew Defina to leave Deutsche Bank, where he was one of the senior players in its capital markets division. (The Australian)

The Reserve Bank has indirectly accused Australia's major banks of profiteering on interest rates, saying the recent series of ''super-sized'' rate rises had outpaced increases in the banks' funding costs. (Sydney Morning Herald)

Australia's securitisation market may have sprung back to life in the past six months but its recovery has now stalled, partly because investors are wary of buying the high-yield, high-risk securities offered as part of these deals. (The Australian)
