The biggest banking graduate recruiters for 2010
The very large and very dark clouds which gathered around graduate recruitment last year are beginning to allow some chinks of optimism to shine through. As research from the Times, Association of Graduate Recruiters and our own investigations reveal, graduate numbers are likely to be up in 2010.
However, some banks are more opening their doors wider than others. Below is a breakdown of banks' approximate intakes for 2010, for both graduate schemes and summer interns. Bulge bracket investment banks are big hirers, but those firms with a retail arm are the largest graduate recruiters.
BANK OF AMERICA MERRILL LYNCH
Graduates: 125 for the EMEA region
Internships: 125 for region EMEA region

An important caveat to the above figures is that a large proportion of the analyst positions on graduate schemes will be filled by students who managed to gain an internship, so it's essential to seek to secure a place on a summer programme.
