Are you experiencing the recruitment recovery?

Overall hiring volumes in Singapore and Hong Kong are certainly higher than they were just six months ago, but has this so-called recruitment recovery affected you and your job function yet?

If you're an experienced revenue generator, the answer is probably "yes". Ditto if you're in a compliance-related role.

But there are still plenty of junior job seekers out there who can't find work, and some firms are still reluctant to hire in the back-office. Are you feeling a bit left out as you read up-beat news about banks starting to hire again?

Or will we all just have to wait until March/April (the season of post-bonus movement) to see how strong the rebound really is?

Outta job for 8 months since graduation.
No experience, cannot even submit job application to interested positions.
How long can i survive?

Don't hate the recruiter... They ate your best friend and the one who will hand you the golden ticket... What you do from there, it's all you. Be the perfect candidate that gets the job... Know more about that job than anyone else already doing it. Have updated skills too!!! Most banks have new budgets from January, so you have a few months of prep to be the perfect candidate...

I hear you brother, thats exaclty how they work.
Remeber folks, those recruiter are basically
salespeople nothing else.

Things have definitely improved. I graduated in 2008, the class of '08 spent a whole year searching for any job.
Whilst my current collegues graduated in 2009.
Even before receiving their results, they were hired for their first perm job.

I have been jobless for 11 mths and counting! its hard even though I feel I am a good quality candidate - but senior roles are even harder to come by.....
