Put your questions to the head of graduate recruitment at Credit Suisse (Part II)
Following our previous Q&A session with Jim Richardson, the head of graduate recruitment for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Credit Suisse, we're giving you the chance to put your questions to Jim again.
Like last time, we've started the process by asking a few questions of our own below. Feel free to ask yours by posting them in the comments box at the bottom of the page. We will be selecting three a day for Credit Suisse to respond to between September 28th and 30th inclusive. Only the questions that Jim responds to will be published. Questions are now closed!
If a candidate has a 2.2 in a first degree, will it improve their chances of receiving an offer if they study an MSc?
Jim Richardson: Studying for a Masters is a personal choice that you will need to make based on your academic interest. Please bear in mind that most of our programs require a 2:1 or above.
Do you accept applications to your summer internship programme from students who have already graduated?
Jim Richardson: Yes, but all candidates must have clear justification and motivation to complete an internship. We must be confident of the individual's commitment to pursue a career at Credit Suisse after their internship and their ability to use the year before joining us on a Full-time basis constructively.
In response to a previous question, you said that you reject students who don't speak the languages that the business needs. Within the EMEA region, which languages will be most sought after in 2010?
Jim Richardson: In 2010 we will be seeking a wide range of languages for roles in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These range from Finnish and Russian to Portuguese and Spanish. Although many of our roles based in London require a second language, there are still a number of roles that focus on English speaking markets.
