Diary of a debt capital markets intern: Week 5

This week was really one of two halves.

From Monday through to Wednesday I was super busy with pricing updates, and a book to prepare in addition to all the usual intern tasks.

Some late nights were made up for by being taken along to my first (and probably only) client meeting. It was great to see how the bankers talk and react to clients, how they explain pricing and build relationships.

Thursday and Friday were super quiet meaning that there was a lot of time to learn, and a nice atmosphere about the office.

I'm getting much better at the tasks I'm given but still make mistakes despite my best efforts of checking! Reviews in the next two weeks so that will be a good indication of my progress. Overall I would certainly recommend DCM to anyone interested in IBD!
