Who's still hiring graduates for a 2009 start?
If you graduate in 2009 and haven't already got a job in financial services, you're probably despairing of ever finding one. But even at this late stage, there are still opportunities on offer. We've listed some below. Many have application deadlines in the next few weeks, so you'll need to act soon.
Standard Bank
Standard Bank is looking to recruit four graduates on to its two-year IT graduate training programme. The programme, which starts from 1 September, offers four six-month rotations, after which graduates come out as qualified business technologists. Applications need to be in 12 June.

Trafigura
Trading firm Trafigura is taking 10 graduates on to its two-year graduate development programme, including rotations across areas such as credit, operational treasury, corporate funding, operations/contracts, accounts, deals desk and trade finance, starting in September. Applications need to be in by the last week of June.

Insurance and reinsurance underwriting group Kiln is looking to hire between one to three graduates to come on to its 18 month to two-year graduate training programme, starting from this autumn. Applications by 8 June.

The Paris-based bank is looking to hire graduates into a range of UK-based roles, including an equity research trainee, an equity derivative sales trainee, a credit sales to hedge funds trainee, a Lyxor ETF marketing trainee and a structured finance trainee within media and telecoms.

Flow Traders
Flow traders, a Dutch arbitrage trading house is looking for traders on an ongoing basis to join its rolling two-month in-house junior trader training programme, based in Amsterdam.

La Fayette Investment Management
Two graduate/trainee SQL, PHP and Javascript software developers are being sought by La Fayette Investment Management to join its risk team. Deadline for applications: 5 June.

Futures trading company Tower Trading is looking to recruit eight graduates/trainees from the end of August to join its trader training programme. The rolling, one-month programme will normally lead to a permanent position within its London-based equity-based and fixed income futures trading teams.

Between 20 and 25 graduates are being sought to join Amplify Trading's four-month trainee trader programme, starting from 29 June, which normally lead to permanent trading positions.
Applications are accepted up to a few days before but are usually expected by 12 June.

The investment banking is looking to hire both a junior equity strategy associate and an ISG capital credit analyst. While there is no firm deadline for applications, the bank is advising potential candidates to get applications in over the next two weeks at latest.
