More Vacationers Than Not

Not fearing your job might disappear if your team figured out it could get on without you for a week or two, just over half of eFinancialCareers News users who answered our recent poll say they plan to take a vacation this summer.

Our poll was inspired by an early-May CNN story that showcased concern among some workers (including at least one journalist) that "a temporary vacation could lead to permanent time off."

A small majority of those who responded to our poll (53 percent) said they will take time off. Meanwhile, just 20 percent echoed the CNN theme that going away might cost you your job.

Here are the full results for the five possible replies:

- No, my schedule's chock-a-block with clients .............4 percent

- No, I love my work too much to interrupt it ...................5 percent

- What's a vacation? ................................................19 percent

- No. If I did, my boss might make it permanent...........20 percent

- Of course. What, me worry? ..................................53 percent
