Tell me, what is wrong with my CV?

Following a similar feature on our UK site, we're asking readers of eFinancialCareers Gulf to give some constructive criticism of this job-hunter's CV. Below is their profile (with all personal details removed) and little about their search for new employment so far. Can you offer some tips about where they may have been going wrong and what, exactly, can be improved about their CV?

"I've been looking for a new job since mid-December 2008, and applying for positions within investment banking and private equity. I believe I've encountered difficulty simply because the downturn means there are fewer positions available. But I could be wrong, so any advice would be appreciated."

quite impressive in terms of academics, but the inability to stick to one employer for some reasonable time sounds an alarm.
please bring out the key competencies out clearly, let them stand out from the CV

Sorry to say it again but.... jumpy jumpy jumpy CV! if there are legitimate reasons for these moves then put 1 line in to state the reason between the last 4 moves. Also, you need consistency. It looks like you made a massive jump up the ladder when moving from being a PA to a Private Eq associate just because it was boom time in Dubai. then you moved around loads - people might just think you're not very good. If you've been involved in any deals, list these - demonstrate your modelling ability, any funds you've raised, sectors etc. Finally, tailor your CV to the job and bring out the relevant experience, you've done lots of different things so you're too much of a generalist.

Jumping from one company to another in a short time frame makes recruiters think more than once to call the applicant

You have really changed jobs a lot! Consequently you might come across as a person that is difficult to work with and that isn't very loyal (this might not be true but the signal is there). Especially since you came to the region you have had 4 jobs since April 2007 (!) and you're now looking for your 5th. With the abundance of talent available I'm afraid that your CV in its current form becomes a hard sell.

I think that you should eliminate some of the short term roles that you have on your CV to mitigate this issue and you should not have your education on top of your CV since your a person with ~10years.
