Lunchtime Links: Beware the prank Goldman interview invite

Dealbreaker has unearthed what it claims was a 'sick and twisted' spoof interview invitation ostensibly sent by Mark Weber, a Goldman HR VP, to hapless would-be analysts in the US. The invitation informed eager students that they'd been selected for a first round of interrogation at the firm. Sadly, it was followed by an email from the real Mark Weber revealing that the first email was all a terrible lie sent by someone with 'no affiliation to Goldman Sachs whatsoever.'

Well, I have to disagree with that. I certainly WOULD urinate on Henry given half the chance.

Everyone on here knows Henry is unpleasant and he also knows that most of us and the general public would'nt urinate on him if he were on fire.

I ignored it because it was a stupid point.

"Why did you feel the need to do that Henry - was it becuase you knew a costly, elitest education coupled with a self-inflated ego weren't enough to get you by?"

It might not have been. GS is competitive. Who knows, I might have got in on my own merit. But that's completely irrelevant. You should do whatever it takes to get ahead, including screwing over your rivals. I'm proud that lots of things I've accomplished have involved a bit of exaggeration, bending the truth, and morally questionable tactics. The same for virtually all successful people in this game.

70hours per week is fine. Having a good few stories to talk about from your younger age is also good.

Life is full of sacrifice. You'll never know which decisions were truly worth it. Having an entertaining younger life is always great. Having a life with a good bit of dosh when older is also nice.

People who hate one one side or the other only do so because they didnt experience it.
