Are you now willing to pay more tax?

If there is anything resembling a certainty right now, it is that bankers high earners will end up paying more tax in the near future.

Prior to his election, Obama reportedly told a room of assembled Goldman Sachs clients that he had every intention of raising their taxes in future.

A cash-strapped Alistair Darling looks set to do the same here. A 45% tax rate on the 1% of the population earning more than 150k seems inevitable (even if it won't raise much more cash).

How do you feel about this? The New York Magazine reports that high earners in the US are rebelling against their lost status. Are you a rebel too? Or is now the time to buckle down and pay your dues to society?

It is an unfortunate effect of a democratic system that the impoverished majority will generally vote for the wealthy minority to pay the way for them.

I already pay more in tax than most people earn across several years. I fail to see why I should be required to pay even more.
