Should you stay away tomorrow?

How bad are the G20 protests likely to get in the City tomorrow? Early indications suggest you shouldn't wander around taking snap shots. There was a bomb scare outside the Bank of England this afternoon, but it's since been given the all clear.

Someone working at the bank told us that they've been evacuated and the following e-mail was sent to FT Alphaville from a concerned employee outside the BofE building:

Dear all,

Please be advised that a suspect vehicle is located within the Bank area, explosives within the vehicle have been identified. The police are in attendance and will carry out a controlled removal of this device.

I will continue to update you on further developments.

Kind regards

Scary scenes.

Away from this, one of the organisations expected to kick up a fuss tomorrow is G20 Meltdown - a group the Telegraph describes as a "disjointed band of middle-class academics, squatters and students" who have been hatching their plans in a dingy pub basement.

"People are angry. The public will surprise us on the day," insists Professor Chris Knight, the group's leader.

Still, it seems they may have gone a little too far already and are being chucked out of their HQ. This is a plea on their Twitter page:

Convergence space being evicted. Get down and help resistance. 8-16 Earl St, EC2A 2LY (behind Liverpool St Station).

I will hope to get caught up in a ruck. Nothing would please me more than sticking my Lobb shoe into a skinny underfed weasle wiith a ring through his nose.

Im in in braces the widest pinstripes I own. Started at six and unsuprisingly the protesters are still in bed. I will be popping out for lunch as ever and if anything happens im actually quite looking forward to lamping a hippie...

boribori: you will be betrayed by the armani labels and expensive hair-cut, on top of the ingrained smug, well-fed look which no amount of body buffing will erase. there i have just saved you. no fees charged.
