Describe a project or task that you have undertaken that has gone horribly wrong.

Candidate's answer

I described the Young Enterprise group that I had been a part of during sixth form. Our company took orders and payment for products that we were then unable to produce. I described my personal role in dealing with the situation (which was to pacify our customers and persuade them to accept a substitute product).

Have you ever been asked to do something that you felt was wrong?

Candidate's answer

I used to tutor a younger pupil at my school in mathematics, and was once asked by her father to help her to complete some GCSE coursework, which I felt was morally wrong. I therefore declined to help with the actual coursework, but instead explained in detail the concepts that she would need to use for the coursework.

Discuss a current business issue that has interested you.

Candidate's answer

I talked about the current problems that car manufacturers are having, and described a recent visit I had made to a Land Rover factory, where I saw them cutting back on production. I debated with my interviewer whether or not the government should bail out the car manufacturers.
