Lunchtime Links: Soon to be a civil servant
That is, at least, if you work for a UK bank. According to a (possibly sensationalist) article in today's Telegraph, there will only be two London listed banks left by the end of 2009: HSBC and Standard Chartered. All others will be part of the Great British State. Top civil servants can earn 220k a year, so there may not be too much to worry about on the compensation front, and pensions will be underwritten by the taxpayer. Paul Tucker is, unfortunately, resisting calls for nationalisation, however.
