Investment manager setting up in Ireland
Dublin is soon to have a new addition to the investment management community when Swiss firm Sarasin & Partners opens an Irish branch later this month.
Fergus Crawford is the new CEO and will lead a team two, one focused on private clients and the other institutional. Both hires have been snapped up from the Irish market, and Sarasin says any future recruitment is dependent on the success of the new venture.
In spite of the declining domestic economic picture, Fidelis Goetz, head of Sarasin's international division, says that the firm views Ireland as a "growth market".
The branch will provide investment services to private clients, institutions and charities.
Sarasin is in expansion mode despite the financial crisis and has also opened offices in Germany and Spain this year, as well as Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.
