Lunchtime Links: Would female traders really have made a difference?

It seems unlikely that female caution would have prevented the current situation, but contemplating a proliferation of female traders is a welcome distraction from events in the markets. The Times today devotes a lot of space to the notion that women would not have got us into this situation. This follows an article in the Financial Times yesterday, which rued the fact that recent recruits to investment banks have largely been 'hyper aggressive alpha male types'. Time to wear a pink tie?

Female traders wouldn't have averted this crisis because the small trader is merely a pawn in a larger game of greed. As always, us and uk citizens are only interested in what's happening under their own roof and to their own pocket that they fail to open their eyes beyond the mainstream media articles, whose owners are controlled by, and fund the power players that can pass the right bills to keep them rolling in riches.

This 'bailout' and 'liquidity injections' are in the process of turning usa into a third world country, with all mortgages, savings etc entirely controlled by the privately owned federal reserve. Another golden handshake for wall st, while middle amaerica is squeezed into extinction.

There is a place for female traders, but the guys seem to take more risks. I trade and lose money all the time but I win more times than I lose. Women, apparently, trade fewer times and don't take as many risks.

Look at the business world. James Dyson, vacuum cleaner bloke, had to re-mortgage his house as he couldn't find anyone to help his project. He took a massive risk. Paid himself 60 million pounds last year!

Being too cautious can impede progress when it comes to profit. I look forward to an article about female-run trading operations.
