Scotia Capital Fills Energy Research Opening
Scotia Capital hired an analyst from RBC Dominion Securities to cover energy stocks from its Calgary office.
Mark Polak fills a slot formerly held by senior oil and gas analyst Nick Rontogiannis, who is leaving to join an unspecified British hedge fund, the Globe and Mail reports. Another Scotia energy analyst, Brian Ector, is "taking a break to consider career options," the newspaper says.
Polack, who starts at Scotia next month, will cover the senior exploration and production companies, the big integrated energy stocks and the oil sands plays. He covered the same companies at RBC Dominion for the past two years, and previously worked with top-ranked RBC Dominion energy analyst Gordon Gee.
