Barclays Capital: Finance interview, industrial placement

Question:

Tell me about yourself without mentioning anything on your CV.

Candidate's answer:

I just chatted for a while about some of my interests - theatre, reading, gym - the kinds of things you don't put on your CV.

Question:

How would you explain what Barclays Capital does in three sentences to an eight year old?

Candidate's answer:

I can't remember what I said. I just tried to summarise what an investment bank does in a simplistic way - not as easy as it sounds.

Question:

How would you rate me as an interviewer?

Candidate's answer:

I wasn't sure how to respond, so I just said she was a good interviewer although her style was slightly different to what I was used to.

Think it should be added that the reason she asked the last question is because she was a professional (not HR) and so it wasn't some sort of test. I think it was a genuine query.
