Last-minute vacancies!
Despite the official end of January cut-off for most of this year's graduate training programmes, there are still vacancies to be snapped up. Here they are in alpha order...
Allied Irish Bank
Allied Irish Bank is still accepting applications on to its 2007 graduate training scheme, and will be doing so up to April 2.
The bank has openings for some 20 graduates, who will be trained in a variety of areas, including corporate banking, finance, risk, marketing and branch banking.
Interested graduates should go to https://www.aibgb.co.uk/careers to apply.
Alliance Trust
Alliance Trust's two-year management graduate trainee programme, which is based in Dundee, is open to applications up to the end of March.
HR adviser Karen McNab says applications are filled on a first-come first-served basis and, as there was an initial cut-off at the end of January, you'd be well advised not to leave it too late.
Competition is fierce: Alliance Trust only has around three vacancies and McNab says there have already been around 80 applications.
Recruits will join a rotational programme looking at all the group functions, investment trusts (both equities and research), marketing and operations.
Applications can be emailed to recruitment@alliancetrust.co.uk or go through the website www.alliancetrust.co.uk
Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse is currently looking for graduates to fill four full-time analyst roles in fixed income and equities and eight to 10 positions in its fixed income modelling and analytics area, says Stephanie Ahrens, head of graduate recruitment (Europe).
Fixed income, in particular, is looking for people with degrees at PhD or quant master level, she adds.
While there is no cut-off date for applications, the bank is hoping to have completed the hiring process by the end of March, she explains.
Applicants should go through the Credit Suisse graduate website, https://campusrecruiting.credit-suisse.com/
Merrill Lynch
Merrill Lynch still has around five vacancies left for its 10-week technology division summer programme, which looks at areas such as algorithmic trading, grid computing and business intelligence.
"The deadline for our full-time programme is normally mid-November and for our summer programmes mid-January but, in some areas that are harder to fill, there is sometimes a rolling deadline," says Natalie Hildon, graduate recruitment marketing adviser.

Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley's cross-divisional graduate training programme, meanwhile, is open to applications up until March 5.
"We currently have vacancies for six graduates. It is a two-year, rotational programme, during which time analysts rotate through sales, trading and investment banking, rotating every seven months," says Lucy Gregory, co-head of European graduate recruitment.
Graduates on the programme, which starts in July, also get ongoing training in areas such as accounting, financial modelling and capital markets.
