Pay on the up
A report this week in the Sydney Morning Herald suggested salaries in finance jumped 25% in Victoria for the year to May and 19% in New South Wales (NSW).
Victoria's state government is said to be spending an additional $1m in an effort to attract more finance jobs away from Sydney. Currently Sydney has 43.6% of the country's finance and banking jobs.
However, government figures show employment Victoria's financial services sector in Victoria grew by 13% during the period, and only 9% in NSW.
