Ashmore bosses to rake in millions
Emerging market fund manager Ashmore Investment Management is set to float in a 1bn move that could see senior staff collect millions.
The Independent says managing director Mark Coombs controls 60% of the group and can expect to receive a substantial payout, while Jon Moulton, the founder of private equity firm Alchemy Partners, has a stake of 7.5%. A number of Ashmore's senior managers are also expected to share in the windfall.
This comes at a time when asset managers are accused of not offering attractive enough pay incentives to their employees. According to a recent survey reported in Investment News, asset managers can increase operating margins by as much as 10% by offering employees equity or long-term compensation.
