AMP to hire financial planners

The Independent Financial Adviser reported this week that AMP would like to increase its number of financial planners by three to four per cent a year.

AMP CEO, Andrew Mohl, said the increase in financial planner numbers would equate to approximately 150 new recruits each year.

Mohl also pointed to growing difficulties hiring planners, largely due to the increasingly onerous restrictions imposed on the industry.

MoneyManagement.com recently reported that financial planning jobs offered salaries in the A$70,000 to A$95,000 range, for degree qualified candidates with three to five years' industry experience.
