Activpayroll hiring in Scotland

Scottish payroll company Activpayroll is looking to hire in Edinburgh as it expands its servicing of financial sector clients including Aberdeen Asset Management, First State Investments and Petroleum Services Network (PSN).

"We are actively hiring in Scotland for our offices in Aberdeen and Edinburgh," says Julie Buchanan, international tax director at the firm. "We are hiring at all levels, from those with no experience whatsoever up to payroll manager level. Inexperienced candidates will benefit from in-house training, and will also study towards a professional payroll qualification."

The Scotsman says the firm expects the Edinburgh office to grow to the same size as its Aberdeen headquarters - about 70 staff - within the next year or two.

Company director Alison Smith says payroll outsourcing is becoming more popular among corporate clients, and as a result the business is fast-expanding having seen 400 per cent growth in the past year according to the Scotsman.

International tax manager Graham McKechnie, formerly of PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been recruited for Edinburgh, along with six others.

"Aside from the current drive, we are always open to new people, and if we get the right CV we will consider taking on candidates," Buchanan says.
