Stressed at work? You're not alone
A new survey points to what for many in the financial markets is all too much an obvious part of the daily grind.
Recruitment firm Robert Half International says almost half of City workers are stressed at work, with 54% of employees domiciled in Docklands claiming stress on the job is taking its toll.
"It is very interesting to see that the majority of people still admit to feeling stressed at work," says Neil Owen, branch manager at Robert Half Financial Services Group. "Despite efforts to help workers achieve a healthy work/life balance, demands being placed on workers continue to mount."
How workers handle the stress has a geographical bent. Exercise and socialising are the primary tools, but percentages flip-flop depending on locale. Docklands respondents prefer to socialise (40%) over exercise (23%); Square Mile respondents chose exercise (34%) over socialising (24%).
