HSBC hires for Ireland

HSBC is looking to expand its new corporate banking division with a "significant number" of hires in Ireland.

"We will be hiring in Ireland. I haven't finalised exact plans yet, but certainly it will be a significant number of people," says Alan Duffy, who will head the new Dublin-based team. "We will be hiring relationship manager people, and some credit support people also. This is planned for the remainder of this year and in the first half of 2007."

Rte.ie says the bank is setting up the corporate banking business for companies pursuing growth in international markets.
