Cantor Fitzgerald Launches Technology Banking Team
Brokerage firm Cantor Fitzgerald has launched a new technology banking team within its investment banking group, and appointed James Lim and John Sternfield to lead it as managing directors and co-heads of technology investment banking.

Lim joins from Pacific Growth Equities, the San Francisco-based investment banking firm, where he worked for two years and co-led the technology investment banking group. Lim also spent nine years at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, where he had been a managing director and head of software and security investment banking.
Sternfield was previously in charge of the communications and computing practice as managing director in investment banking at Piper Jaffray, before he founded his own investment banking consulting firm, Ross Road Partners, four years ago.
Paul Midura and Jeff Sussman are also joining the team as vice presidents. Midura comes to the brokerage after a two-year stint as business unit controller at software maker Macromedia. Sussman joins from investment banking firm Cascadia Capital, where he handled mergers and acquisitions, recapitalization and financing transactions as the lead banker.
The team will report to Marc Blazer, global head of investment banking, and be based in San Francisco on an interim basis, until a more permanent base of operations is found.
New additions to the team will be announced in upcoming weeks.
