Who wants to be in Deighton's gang?

Paul Deighton, ex-Goldman Sachs chief operating officer in Europe, turned chief executive of the London Olympic Games Committee, is reportedly looking to hire 3,000 people by 2012.

Deighton has already lured Terry Miller, Goldman's international general counsel and the bank's most senior legal representative in London, to join the committee.

Are more Goldman defections on the way?

If the advice of Hank Paulson, Goldman's former chief executive officer, is anything to go by, the answer may well be yes. The Telegraph this weekend reported that Paulson told Deighton he 'had to do' the Olympics job.

Deighton was also reported as saying that several of his former Goldman colleagues are envious of his new role.
