ING to shift jobs to outsourcers

Dutch financial services group ING Groep NV is reportedly shifting about 550 employees in the Netherlands and Belgium to outsourced service providers.

The bank has agreed a five year deal worth €800 million to outsource work place services at its banking and insurance operations in the Netherlands and Belgium for 53,000 employees to Accenture, Atos Origin, Getronics and KPN, reports Reuters.

ING said the deal included the installation, maintenance and support of desktops, laptops, printers and telephones.

The agreement, which will be finalised at the end of 2006, is part of ING's cost savings and efficiency programme, which was announced last November.

The bank said the move was expected to yield annual savings of about €460 million, including €230 million for the streamlining and outsourcing at the operations and IT part of the group.
