UBS to hire 600 in India

UBS is to hire up to 600 staff into its new Indian back office unit by the end of 2006, expanding to over 1500 employees by the middle of next year.

The Swiss investment bank is investing $40million into the infrastructure, management and IT costs of the new facility, which will deliver research and analytics services as well as transaction and data processing and IT infrastructure support, Finextra reports.

According to press reports the bank has already recruited 180 staff for the centre in Hyderabad.
