Resolution on hiring safari

Asset managers looking for Scottish openings could do worse than despatching their CVs in the direction of Resolution Asset Management.

The Glasgow-based asset management company, which yesterday announced the 3.6bn acquisition of Abbey National's life business, is hiring everything from an investment manager for UK equities, to a manager of its Far East team, and a manager specialised in international bonds and currencies.

Julie Stewart, head of HR at the company, said early this year that Resolution planned to add 14 fund managers in 2006, a recruitment programme which she says is ongoing.

Following the acquisition of the Abbey business, which will swell the company's invested assets from 39bn to 63bn, Stewart says Resolution plans to add another five investment managers.
